Brave contestants battling the wind rain and elements in the Annual Christmas Day Weymouth Harbour Swim for the Lions Club

This year, there were 5 races, with several hundred contestants and 1000;s of spectators, battling a moderate wind and light rain but with reasonably mild temperatures, in the Harbour Swim to benefit the Lions Club. Races started at 11:00am and it was standing room only as the throngs of watchers strived to catch a glimpse of the brave swimmers, many in costumes and all completing the course in 5 minutes or less. Last race was about 11:30. Well done everybody! It was then time for swimmers to get dressed and join friends and families in one the great Pubs lining the Harbourside, for a well-deserved drink (and a warm-up!) My Sister-in-Law has promised to swim next year – hoping to get a “ringside seat” for that!
