Racing about to start – Weymouth Beach Motocross

Weymouth and Portland Lions Club is again presenting this year’s Beach Motocross Event, managed by the Purbeck Motocross Organisation. The beach motocross is free to attend although donations are welcome and programmes are on sale at £2. Every year, over 300 racers take part and £1,000’s are raised for charities. Despite some overcast weather, thousands of folk have turned up to watch the thrills and spills. We popped across the road to take a few quick snaps between cleaning the rooms.

As well as the racing, there were some stalls along the Esplanade, a funfair by King Street – Jubilee Clocktower and a number of classic cars on display.
