Dunkirk – First job – move all the cars

The movie ‘Dunkirk’ – with the working title ‘Bodega Bay’, was being filmed Wednesday and Thursday right behind Aaran Guesthouse, on Custom House Quay, in Weymouth. The film stars Harry Stiles, alongside Kenneth Branagh, Tom Hardy, Fionn Whitehead and other luminaries.  Filming started in France in May: Some rail scenes have been shot with Harry Stiles in Swanage and now the action moves to Weymouth Harbour.

Dunkirk Movie – covering all the road markings with gravel – These guys worked spectacularly hard – 250 yards covered in less than 1/2 hour

The film is due for general release 21st July 2017. At the moment, scene shifters are busy, so pedestrians and traffic are prohibited – but we managed to sneak a couple of photos from our rear room windows.
