Pommery Seafood Festival in Weymouth in full swing

This year’s Pommery Seafood Festival in Weymouth was sizzling hot – not just the food but also the glorious sunny weather. Now in it’s 10th year, there were 90 stalls and display podia, including celebrity chef cooking demonstrations, book signing by Jeremy Paxman, seafood of all descriptions, specialist cider from the “Flagon Wagon”, tours on board HMS Severn coastal patrol ship, dressed lobster, “undressed” lobster, lobster burgers – you name it – and Pommery’s fine champagne to help it down in the best possible way.

Weymouth Beach and The Esplanade packed with sunseekers and foodies during the Seafood Festival

About 80,000 people attended and there were very many very happy and very-well-fed faces in the crowd. The beach was packed as well. We had a full house so we could not get out to enjoy much of the festival but we did take a few quick photos from our rooms.

We also managed an evening barbecue on the beach near Lodmoor, thanks to our friends at the Gresham (lovely!)
